Halloween Edition: Pumpkin Cupcake Bouquet


Kicked up the regular flower bouquet up a notch or two and decided to make the Halloween themed bouquet out of a carved pumpkin. Cupcakes are made out of fresh pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. There are black rosettes, black and orange rosettes, and a pumpkin frosted in the middle. The large skull and other halloween decorations are made out of fondant. Attached the pumpkin lid on top with some black foliage leaves and pumpkin decor on twigs arranged around the bouquet. The pumpkin lights up via a battery operated strobe light too!

Halloween Edition: The Pumpkin Patch

Made some Blood Red Velvet cake with an orange pumpkin frosted out of cream cheese frosting! Have fun and Happy Halloween!!

Apple Pie Mini Crumbles

A new addition to the BlakeyCakes confectionary arsenal are mini pies! First in line are mini apple pie crumbles. 

I easily made a Vegan and Non-Vegan version. The pie crust was made with a vegetable spread butter substitute and came out toasty, crunchy, and golden brown! The apple pie filling was of course made out of two kinds of fresh apples ( Granny Smith and Fuji) and seasoned with brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves, which infused with the apples natural juices to make an out of this world apple spiced syrup when baked. The top of the pies were sprinkled and baked with a brown sugar crumble. 

The pies were flipped to a Non-Vegan brand when a dollop of whipped cream and caramel drizzle were added on top. 

Straight out of the oven, the gooey, warm filling from the apple pie minis were absolute heaven!! The added caramel sauce and whipped cream just added another layer of godliness to the whole experience.

Dia de los Muertos

The festivities continue with the "Day of the Dead" marching through the BlakeyCakes Blakery!

A fitting, fluffy angel food cake becomes the cake base. On top sits an airy, buttery meringue buttercream frosting with bits of sweet apricot jam inside and a bit of thick apricot sauce oozing from the top. This holiday cupcake is completed with fondant marigolds, fondant heart milagros, and white candy chocolate skull ornaments on top decorated with royal icing patterns.

Halloween Edition: The Graveyard


 A devilish, sinful, dark chocolate cupcake topped with a creamy bittersweet chocolate ganache frosting sprinkled with crumbled chocolate cookies and filled with a gruesome swamp of tart cherry custard! Graves are made of solid chocolate and decorated with luster dusts! Perfect for any undead spirit looking for a delicious place to rest for all eternity!!
